
Dr. Felipe Peterson
Felipe Peterson, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist with a special interest in sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, reconstructive rearfoot surgery, and minimally-invasive procedures. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale followed by his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University in Miami. Dr. Peterson began his postgraduate training at Boston Medical Center in Boston and completed a second surgical program at Larkin Palm Springs Hospital in Hialeah, Florida.
At both residencies and while in private practice, Dr. Peterson gained valuable experience in internal medicine and total joint replacement. He has presented lectures on a variety of pathologies and treatments—including educating the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Rowdies on injury prevention—and mentors other physicians on acoustic wave therapy, chronic gout management, and vascular disease.
Born in Brazil, Dr. Peterson is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. He enjoys volunteering his free time to the community, his church, and the students of St. Petersburg Catholic High School, to whom he delivers messages of inspiration. Most important, he is a devoted father to his two young sons.
