James Cottom, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon specializing in traumatology, sports medicine, reconstructive surgery, diabetic care, and regenerative medicine. He earned his doctorate from The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and completed a three-year surgical residency in foot, ankle, and leg trauma and reconstruction at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University.
Dr. Cottom is renowned in podiatry for his extensive orthopedic fellowship training and award-winning research. He completed fellowships at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio; with Dr. Sigvard Hansen in Seattle, Washington; and in Kurgan, Russia, focusing on the Ilizarov technique.
