Modern Foot & Ankle is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Raj Prabhakar, a skilled foot and ankle surgeon specializing in sports medicine and minimally invasive surgical techniques, to their expanding team. Dr. Prabhakar will lead the practice’s new Lake Worth office, which opens on January 6, 2025, providing expert podiatric care to patients in the local community. He will also work in the Jupiter office.
A South Florida native, Dr. Prabhakar began his medical journey at Nova Southeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology while also excelling as a member of the university’s basketball team. His collegiate athletic experience shaped his passion for sports medicine, teamwork, and dedication—qualities that continue to guide his approach to patient care. “Being a college athlete allowed me to understand the physical demands placed on the body and fueled my passion for helping people return to the activities they love,” shared Dr. Prabhakar.
Dr. Prabhakar earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Barry University, where he excelled academically and developed a strong interest in surgical care. His surgical expertise was further refined during a comprehensive residency at Mercy Hospital, where he specialized in trauma care, minimally invasive surgery, and sports medicine. He then pursued an elite sports medicine fellowship, working alongside professional athletes and teams, including the Miami Heat, Inter Miami CF, and the University of Miami, honing his skills in cutting-edge techniques and regenerative medicine.
